And just like that September is drawing to a close and October is upon us 🍂
September is my 2nd favourite month of the year after March, it exudes that “fresh start” feeling, kids are going back to school, young adults are preparing to start/go back to uni and although it’s been some years now that I’ve fallen into either of those categories, for the past couple years September has become a month of DEEP self-reflection and change of some sort…
Let’s take it back to August, the beginning of the month I celebrated my friends getting married and when all the bridal party duties/festivities had ended I was faced with the reality that I reeeaaally needed to ‘get my life together’. For some months prior to this I had felt the dreaded “quarter-life crisis” looming and now that there were no more [pleasant] distractions, I was face-to-face with dealing with said crisis. It was at this time that I decided to take my periodical social media [Instagram lol] break and focus on dealing with what I had to deal with.
While it is good to take some time out to reflect it is so important to not get into a state of OVERthinking which is something I still really struggle with and really battled with during this time triggering a whole load of negative memories and emotions. I will delve more into this in future post as I don’t want this to get too heavy…
So in honour of #FreshStartSeptember you may have noticed my blog has had a design transformation I didn’t want to wait until the new year to make this change so thought to just go ahead and do it as I felt. In addition to the blog makeover, going forward I plan to make my content more ‘life and style’ focused as I have sooo many thoughts in mind that I want to share and hopefully engage in with my readers.
